Imagine sitting on your sofa, watching a 3D movie and enjoying all the 3D effects without being bothered by those clunky glasses that never fit quite right. TRIDELITY can help you do exactly that. We have developed a technology that makes glasses-free 3D possible. And this is something that not only movie fans benefit from – TRIDELITY’s technology also helps doctors and architects do their jobs even better and opens up new paths in the fields of advertising and gaming. In addition, the displays can be used in educational environments. Right now, customers from the research and medical fields are using 3D technology, as are advertisers. Altogether TRIDELITY has sold our 3D solutions to customers in 25 countries on five continents.

But TRIDELITY does not provide solely displays that make glasses-free 3D possible. We also offer all the components necessary for glasses-free 3D experiences, making us a one-stop shop for everything from hardware to software and content. Our high-quality displays are available in various sizes in both landscape and portrait formats. TRIDELITY even offers the first glasses-free 3D video wall on the planet. And converting 2D content to 3D is no problem for TRIDELITY’s innovative technology.

Glasses-free 3D is not a future technology; it has been a reality for a long time. We’re an innovative company ready to share our 3D views on the world, in both professional environments and entertainment – because 3D was meant to be seen without glasses.

There’s something that 3D gives to the picture that takes you into another land and you stay there and it’s a good place to be…

In October 2006, together with Johannes Sigwart and Marco Lopes, Michael Russo founded TRIDELITY. As the lead decision maker on strategy, he is responsible for marketing and sales.

Through his education and previous experience, Michael gained knowledge in international marketing, small-business management, leadership and motivation in different industry sectors in Germany, Europe and the US. He was responsible for sales management and the setup of new sales reporting structures at one of the biggest German electricity-producing and selling enterprises, and he was marketing and sales manager for 3D screens at a leading OEM display manufacturer in Germany. That was where he met Johannes and Marco.

As the initiating force in starting up the company, Michael managed to quickly find clients for a mostly unknown product. Through his network, he successfully launched the company with a contract in hand for the development of a 3D dental surgery device. In 2008, he found new shareholders for the company and further boosted the growth of TRIDELITY . Michael continuously proves his entrepreneurial skills as a flexible leader ready to manage the various challenges inherent in TRIDELITY’s ongoing rapid growth.

Michael is very interested in sports, including running, soccer and skiing. He is also an enthusiastic tennis player and tennis fan.

Johannes Sigwart became Chief Technology Officer when he founded TRIDELITY with Marco Lopes and Michael Russo in October 2006.

In early 2002, while employed as a hardware developer and project manager in the field of LCD displays for special applications at a leading OEM display manufacturer, Johannes started working with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute in Berlin on a glasses-free 3D display project based on optical lens grids. The resulting product was one of the first commercially available autostereoscopic 3D displays on the market.

But only with the founding of TRIDELITY could Johannes pursue his visions, realize his ideas and develop more sophisticated hardware. By way of parallax barrier technology, he improved single-viewer products, and he enhanced parallax barrier technologies in general to be used in a wide range of landscape- and portrait-format display solutions for multi-view applications, thus enlarging TRIDELITY’s product range considerably.
Johannes is in charge of the complete hardware development process, including the calculation and design of optical filter elements, mechanical construction in CAD, and optical and electronic modification of LCD components. The wide TRIDELITY patent portfolio is based on his inventions.

For the St. Georgen-based production line, he designed and implemented a quality management system that allows TRIDELITY to manufacture products for the European and North American markets for both the IT and medical fields. He is responsible for seeing that all developed products meet applicable safety standards and thus gain required approvals.

Marco Lopes, together with Johannes Sigwart and Michael Russo, founded TRIDELITY in October 2006. With expertise in software development, he is Chief Development Officer.

Experienced in visualization systems based in C++, Java and OpenGL, Marco worked as a software development manager in multidisciplinary teams, using Unified Process and extreme programming tools such as JUnit and Ant.

Marco is proficient in SQL and PHP and has deep experience in video-playing systems and GPU-based optimizations. At TRIDELITY, Marco has developed multiplatform applications for Android, Mac OS, Linux and Windows. With his broad expertise in diverse software applications and tools, he was employed as a senior developer at a midsize software company in Germany and later worked at a leading OEM display manufacturer, where he was the head of the 3D software department.

As a complement to Johannes, Marco continually improves the development and adaptation of software applications in order to optimize the efficiency and compatibility of the 3D hardware developments. Setting the right algorithms, he enhances and refines Johannes’s optical ideas, making the whole solution plug-and-play and intuitive to use.

He helped establish the quality management system at TRIDELITY and is responsible for building key partnerships with major 3D companies such as NVIDIA, AMD, VSG and Zeiss. In addition, Marco currently leads the support team.

Weather permitting, Marco loves playing volleyball in his free time; otherwise he can be found experimenting with microcontrollers and ARM boards.

Even though TRIDELITY keeps proving our spirit of innovation by continuing to create practical products and services for 3 D, we still have lots of room for progress and further growth through new product ideas. We believe the most fruitful fields will be digital signage and consumer electronics. In this section we briefly outline our latest ideas.

Major professional display manufacturers worldwide announced the delivery of large-size LCD displays in Ultra HD (Quad-HD resolution) toward the end of 2014 and early 2015 (65″ and even up to 84″ and 98″). Consequently, TRIDELITY will soon upgrade our product portfolio to Ultra HD-based autostereoscopic display models and to sizes greater than 80″.

Imagine large-scale LED billboards in Times Square – in naked-eye 3 D, with the content literally popping off the surface by several meters or yards! In locations like Times Square, advertising must stick out in the crowd, so this type of media technology would be of massive value to advertisers worldwide.
Such a solution is possible with TRIDELITY’s core autostereoscopic 3 D technology combined with the sophisticated LED modules now available. What’s changed over the past few years to enable this technology? Well, LED resolution has increased just recently, and the quality and precision of LED modules have improved drastically over the past two years.

3 D for the home was one of the biggest flops in recent consumer electronics history.
Many say that a lack of available 3 D content is to blame for the failure. TRIDELITY believes this is one of the weaker reasons why consumers do not use 3 D in their homes today. We think the main reason is the need for those annoying 3 D glasses! After all, the home is a highly communicative and dynamic environment.
When you are watching TV, you are not necessarily just watching TV. Maybe you are also talking with your family. Maybe the phone rings and you take the call. Maybe you go to the fridge to grab a cold drink. In these situations, you don’t want to look funny or be distracted and annoyed by 3 D glasses.
It’s clear that the consumer electronics world needs compelling glasses-free 3 D TV for the home if 3 D is to conquer this market.
TRIDELITY can deliver this solution. The company has access to various algorithms that convert stereoscopic 3 D content (based on two points of view) into autostereoscopic 3 D content (based on n points of view) in real-time. Any viable solution must also be switchable from 2D to glasses-free 3 D, because consumers want to be able to view 2D programs in 2D without any drawbacks. TRIDELITY has already developed a proof of concept (see Innovations section). Our solution is ready to be licensed and marketed via a production license, with an R&D time frame of 18 to 24 months.
TRIDELITY is open for requests in order to capitalize on this unique opportunity.

Web 3.0 is far from being fiction. 3 D printers at reasonable prices are becoming more and more of a commodity. Many brands already demo their products in 3 D on the Internet, and WebGL is currently the popular standard for the Internet in 3 D. The latter is already supported by companies such as Google.
Users will want products and websites available in 3 D and delivered with real 3 D vision, and they will want to enjoy this experience without the need for 3 D glasses.
TRIDELITY is the right company to develop and deliver tablet PCs and desktop monitors capable of running glasses-free 3 D. TRIDELITY’s technology will enable tablets and desktop units to run in 2D when 2D content is selected and to run in glasses-free 3 D when 3 D content is selected.

The gaming industry offers an especially wide sphere of business opportunities for glasses-free 3 D. Games that are ready for compelling glasses-free 3 D use simultaneously by many viewers will mark a massive innovation in the games and game consoles market. A viable product in this market will need to come with a switch for regular 2D to glasses-free 3 D.
TRIDELITY is ideally positioned to execute this type of product development and implementation. Companies such as Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, with their well-known game consoles, would be ideal partners in jointly creating this type of updated hardware with TRIDELITY.
